Midori was born in Japan, lived in Tokyo, London and now lives in Bay Area, USA.
If we think of a blank canvas as an empty theatre, each painting is a play and each shape is a character.
Midori’s characters come from nature, music, movies, books and wherever the light is inspiring.
There is music in Art, just as there are images in Music.
Midori combines color, texture and form into a fluid whole until the melody can be seen.
Midori has been extensively showing her work in Asia, USA and Europe.
She cofounded “Art Intensive!” (based in Milan) with the Italian artist and writer, Antonio Mansueto (founder) in April, 2008.
Midori McCabe e’ una artista statunitense (vive e lavora a San Francisco) di origine nipponica (dove ha studiato e inziato la sua carriera artistica) e con una lunga permanenza a Londra. Nella sua affascinante e ricca poetica si riconosco influssi musicali e di culture diverse. Esponente, di certo, di quel fenomeno multiculturale detto “Alter modern” e teorizzato da Nicolas Bourriaud alla Tate Modern di Londra quest’anno. Divisa e sintetizzata dal mondo anglosassone e quello orientale, Midori ha un’alter passion, una ulteriore alterazione, l’amore per il cuore artistico della vecchia europa, la Toscana, che la porta ad esporre spesso in Italia.
