My little One
Come to me my little one and let me hold you close.
Let me whisper of my great love for you. One day I’ll tell you a story of a life lived long ago . . . about your beloved great grandma who lived in a world so strange and remote, yet, true.
I’ll go back in time to bare feet and feather- beds, dirt roads and chicken coops, warm milk coming from cows in barns, water from deep wells, home-made clothes and houses without paint.
Yes, one day you will hear her story.
I know great grandma would love you, dear Kathy
Telling my baby her first story, tears welled up in my eyes as I reached down and softly kissed her forehead.

In our book, “I Remember Grandma,” coauthor Barbara began telling stories to her new daughter, just like Grandma had told her stories when Barbara was growing up.
