  • shallay

    shallay

Sorry micmac, I cannot believe such an animal exists! I was sure you were joking. Sao biscuits are a brand name for a large square savoury cracker they make in Australia (and obviously not Canada). – Just resembled a big mouldy biscuit the ‘caterpillar’ was crawling on.

  • micmac replied

I’m not joking…lol it was very small with no mouth, just a furry little thing with big ears but I think it was something between larva and the real thing…don’t know what the real thing looks like though…. :)))

  • micmac replied

Oh! Thanks for the explanation…I wish I could taste one of them….:)))

  • CapturedByKylie

This is one strange creature- whatever it is. It could possibly be some type of mutant… do you live near any areas where chemicals are sprayed (farming areas, factories, industrial areas)?

I recently read how some fish farms are getting 2 and 3 headed baby fish because nearby farms are spraying chemicals which are leeching into the waterways and ending up in the water the fish farms use.

Very intriguing – but a great shot :-)

  • Robert Burton

    Robert Burton

I would guess that it is a moth but during the pupation period it didn’t change properly, perhaps due to the presence of mutagenic toxins in the local environment. The ears are probably wings – look at the spots on them, they look like typical wing spots. Please update this comments thread if you find out what it is!

  • Robert Burton

    Robert Burton

ps I am no expert it is just an half-baked guess…

  • micmac replied

Hi Robert, thank you so much for your help, you are probably right.I’ve sent photos to the Insectarium of Montreal to see what kind of moth this is …have a super day…Gisele
