I love this. Nice textures as well as good contrast of warm colors with a cold subject. I also agree, it does look like a fossil! Very nicely done!

the leaf looks disproportionate to the sand.. did you comb the sand with a hair comb?? because the sand looks very much like thick hair strands.. its almost a little surreal, yet like all your work its beautiful

Parce que j’habite en Florida, j’ai cru que c’était une feuille à la plage, alors j’ai lu que la feuille est couverte dans la glace, lol. Ces deux choses sont seulement un petit morceau différents, lol. J’adore l’éclariage et les coleurs dans cette belle photo.

This is stunning Gigi!

A beautifully thought-out picture – the lines of the frosted leaf veins continuing out to the right as the frosted wood rings, the brown wood colour continuing into the leaf and the serrated edge of the leaf itself picking out the form of the main subject. Lighting and composition excellent. The only thing I would have liked would have been to have the top edge of the leaf totally in focus as well, but that doesn’t reduce the overall excellence of this shot significantly. Brilliant!

You only saw the tiny not-so-positive comment in my remarks. The rest of my comment is that the shot was brilliant!! I see that like me you are a perfectionist.!!
