Bay of Fires dawn colours

Bay of Fires dawn colours

watching frost grow from within or is it a thought
that you don’t want to begin
searching high and low to see what’s new
nothing happens since you passed through
open eyes fixed to a floor it’s 4 am the cold is creeping
this Winter delves inside your soul once more
you promise the time you’ll be different next year
your eyes can’t hide the past that you still fear

softly wind blows through your bones
a winters cry like falling tears
isn’t this the story you told that day
your stare grows longer this time…..round
and around again

someone said if she was still around would
you be sitting here with a different look
you said that tears were love coming from your heart
bleeding out so why don’t you cry
when the leaves fall the trees feel the cold
and the howling wind pierces them once more
so here you are the snow might stay away
your smile the sun softy knocking my door

softly wind blows through your bones
a winters cry like falling tears
isn’t this the story you told that day
your stare grows longer this time…..round
and around again
