My nineteenth work for my 52 week challenge.

My little ones and I were playing down under the wild olive tree at the bottom of my garden, when all I really wanted to do was work on my 52 week challenge. So I fetched my camera and began taking random garden snapshots (as you do.) Anyway, I have DONE it, my weekly picture, and that feels good, even if the photo is really random and not very interesting. It is really peaceful down under the olive tree – it is the most spectacular and wonderful tree, completely climbable and like a secret extra room to our house. (If I was any good at photographing trees, I would show you…) I think that the time that my children and I spend there is very likely never wasted. : )

In between cooking, shopping, doing laundry, washing dishes, changing nappies and schooling my children I sometimes find a spare moment to doodle, draw or photograph something or someone. Those are the moments that keep me going, even if they are few and far between. Food for the artist mom’s soul.

The softness… the hues that blend so well… the simpicity of an awesome subject… the appreciation and story behind the tree which this branch belongs to… all makes this photograph special and delightful to gaze upon. Very nice work :)
