A portrait of my son, Reilly (4). This was shot in daylight on my veranda, the background is a gorgeous oil painting completed by my incredibly talented grandmother, Jill Tracey, in 1963. I grew up with that painting, as a child I could not sleep in the same room with it, I was convinced that tigers were about to emerge from the pathway that leads into the painting. : ) As an adult it is a treasured possession, priceless.
This is my 7/52 for my 52 week photo challenge. Better viewed large.

WOW does he look like you !!
Good call using the painting as a background… it`s like he`s a love child of the Emerald Forest.
But what amazes me most about your work is that your perfection of skin tones and dynamic range always make your portraits big as life itself. It`s so important that portraits engage with the viewer, and you`ve got that inherent quality that makes it happen every time.
What a charmer he is… looks like he`s gonna have an amazing life. And I expect he`ll break more than a few hearts along the way :-)

Does he look like me?? I haven’t seen that… I just see my father-in-law whenever I look at him… but he is kinda cute, so I think I will take that as a big compliment and choose to believe you… lol! I have long wanted to use that painting and never got around to it until now – yay!! think I should use it again sometime. Thank you for your wonderful comment, I will walk through the day feeling fully encouraged and happy! : )
