The plan was to shoot some fun shots of Perrin (13) in the socks, but while we were busy, Hudson (4) decided he needed to join in the fun. When he plonked himself down in the middle of the shot, I saw an opportunity I couldn’t resist. ( :

    Framing, composition, lighitng – the idea of the green are all perfection.
    The one thing I would change if the shot were mine – is to only have the green on the socks and his teeshirt – as if it were a ‘uniform’ or in a land where the people had to wear ‘stripey green clothes’ and all else in in B&W.
    Her pose with her hand, the difference in height with the kid on the floor,
    the placing of the shoes at left of frame – are all INSPIRED composition choices.
    The way the natural light – lights up her hair and lower arm and his face and arm – FAB.

    I love the green stripes – its kinda – another madeup word – Burtonesque – gothic kinda. Similar to the black and white stripes of Pugsley Addams from the Addams Family. And Wednesday had a black and white stripe clothes in the film too. Film Trivia – I should get out more :o) LOL
