My oldest daughter Perrin (13) and I were messing around trying out some portrait shots. I quite liked this one.

    Thanks, Kira! if you spoke to her you’d think the same… not your average 13 year old! ( : Such a blessing to me! Oh, and I know about the models… people ask how I find time to do photography with 9 children, but who would I photograph without them??

    Well, often times it’s hard to capture children being anything other than silly in front of a camera – i think it shows trust between the photographer and child when you can capture such a moment. As bdazzled says, she looks wiser than her years. Children often are wiser than their years, but they don’t let just anyone in on that…

    Wow, Selkie, thanks so much for that! and for taking the time to put it all down for me. You may have a point – a friend asked me to photograph her daughter (who did not want to be photographed) and it took all afternoon and maybe 200 exposures to get a few decent images… I think maybe wildlife photography would be easier, lol!)

    Yes, what a beautiful capture. A much more intense portrait (which I love) showing emotion, thought, feeling rather than a cheesy grin (which is what I get from my models LOL). She is an absolute stunner and dad better get ready with the shotgun!!
