Silo
I can’t remember if I’ve posted this up before, but I came across it and decided I wanted to put a written piece from my collection up.
Silo belongs to the following groups:
Melbourne & Victoria and WMGI close the door slowly,
The cubicle was too open,
Too many people around,
Watching, talking,
Whispering, walking
I close the door on the silo,
Sit next to the missile
The peacemaker or the sentinel.
I’m not sure which one
With the cold concrete floor
Manicured to perfection,
dust free and ice cold
polished to within an inch of it’s life
The booster’s beside me is silent
as the mirrored metal reflects my image back
The white smooth hide holds the destructive power of the beast.
But a pin could drop in here and no one would notice,
Not a soul is watching in this place of rest.
The cameras that pan quietly no-one bothers to glance at.
They’ll look if I press the button,
They’ll glance at who the idiot is.
But I don’t want to press the button,
It doesn’t tempt me today,
It hasn’t for quite some time.
But here in the silence,
In the cold hard chasm
I get to scream.

I love the science fiction-ness of this piece…..fantastic ending…though deafening ;)

Thanks Lisa, I’m still getting the drawin done for it, but I like the science fiction aspect of it too.

I can’t wait to see the drawin :))
