Some more sketches from a notebook
So as I close off the fourth book I scanned in some more images:

Some old, some new

Some cynical, well most cynical

and even the newer style I’m trying, Felt tip marker on A3 sheet (as opposed to the heinous Ballpoint pen on A5 visual diary)

but Visual Crash is posting a few more of the images. Have a look.

great good to see the dynamic of the process
Michael Alesich replied
Thanks Julie, The thought process before the sketches usually involves coffee, alcohol or a lack of sleep. Thankfully I never document that segment of the process.
Jess Andrews
geez, talented much? :-p
Michael Alesich replied
Coming from you? ;P
Thanks Jess.

Never knock the power of the ballpoint (although I find those visual diaries aren’t too friendly towards them – they grab the tip too damn much)! ;o)
Love the sketches mate, especially the lighthouse and the teddy bear – great stuff!

The reason why I perfected the ballpoint on the A5 visual diary was to directly contradict my art teacher who swore(literally) at anyone who drew in pen. And also it was better to draw in that in Maths when I was meant to be studying.
(Glad you like the sketches, I’m still to get the tablet sketches working as well your pieces.)

People like that need their fingers broken, and then they should be forced to draw in ballpoint with their broken hands!
(I jest, of course… ;o))
BTW – Tablet sketches = where? Give us a looksie…
Michael Alesich replied
The tablet sketches are too few and far between, I have only the Whale in the Lift as a version of one of my hand drawings. Till I get that worked through I’m sticking to my pens and textas
