thanks deb, it is joyful, henna is traditionally used at weddings on the hands of the bride and is exquisite, though people obviously just get it done for fun now as well. they were definitely a joyful bunch.

thanks for your comment. i know that women in india apply henna to their hands at festivals and in particular at wedding celebrations. i have seen pictures of brides in india with their hands decorated beautifully. there are symbols for fertility, love etc. if you can tell me more i would love to hear it, its such a beautiful tradition.
