Rhapsody & the Opera House in HDR by

The second best shot of the Rhapsody of the Seas at Circular Quay yesterday. Some may like this better than the first one because of the Opera House in the composition.

I really like the way the colourful banners & the lamp fit in with the ship & the Opera House.

Photographed with a Canon 400D at the RedbubbleChristmas Rumble at The Rocks, Sydney, Nov 18, 2012.
Original image replaced with this one tonemapped in Photomatix.

This is Circular Quay, Sydney, Australia.

Country born & bred but now located in Sydney, Australia.

I’m fascinated by the beauty of nature & in particular Australian native flowers & landscapes. I also love colour & anything unusual.
The Blue Mountains are my favourite spot at the moment.

  • Thanks a lot Baz & thanks for the fave. It was good timing to have that ship in port.

It looks like the Opera House is in miniature, doesn’t it. I have one similar too.

  • Yep. I was going to make a silly comment about it being bigger than the Opera House. If only I could have fitted more of that beautiful decorative metal in the foreground !
    Thanks for the fave Christina.

Amazing to see that clear blue sky after the start to the day! A real postcard shot Michael … a lot of thought went into this … excellent composition.

  • Thanks a lot Rosalie. Yes, I checked it out from a view different angles & really liked this one.

Very good angle Michael. Hard not to get a photographer in the shot lol. I love how the angle of the bow matches the sails of the opera house.

  • Thanks a lot Ian. I think the angle of the photographers head matches the angle of the bow too !
