The roots of a fig tree in Kirribilli create an amazing pattern on this stone wall.
I was thinking there might be a special name for roots above the ground, but as per the comment below, yes, these are ‘roots’.
I went back to this spot a few weeks ago to get a better photo but this space is now covered in vines (with construction work on the right hand side).
This might save people from making a pilgrimage to this ‘sacred site’.
