A deliciously rusty crane at Cockatoo Island in Sydney Harbour, Australia.
I liked the angle of this one more than the other shots.
Photographed with a Canon 400D at the Redbubble Rumble at Cockatoo Island on Easter Saturday, 2012.
The other side of the crane had better lighting than this sunny/shady side but this side had more of the great orange rust colour.
Cockatoo Island was a former convict prison and shipyard now accessed by ferries from Circular Quay & Parramatta & used for entertainment & overnight camping.

Country born & bred but now located in Sydney, Australia.
I’m fascinated by the beauty of nature & in particular Australian native flowers & landscapes. I also love colour & anything unusual.
The Blue Mountains are my favourite spot at the moment.

A rusty old bugger all right Michael you have done a nice job with the rust colour great shot mate.
Older & rustier than me even. Thanks Peter. The light was tricky here. Bright sunlight after all that rain.

The rust on this is amazing, I don’t know if I’d feel safe standing beneath it!! Looks very much like a film shot… what camera did you use Michael?
Thanks Mark. I didn’t think of it falling despite the strong winds. Still using the trusty Canon 400D & process with the Canon Zoombrowser & SyncUp on Windows 7.
