This is Elabana Falls which is the first waterfall travelling anti-clockwise on the Box Forest Circuit walking track which leads off the Main Border Track near O’Reilly’s Guesthouse in the Lamington National Park, Queensland, Australia.
I normally avoid sunlight if possible when photographing waterfalls but on this occasion the filtered sunlight through the clouds avoided most of the water & illuminated some of the lush surroundings.
This waterfall is not visible from the track. You have to clamber up the rocks to see it. If I remember rightly, a more frontal view is not possible because of the rocks & deeper water.
I would like to thank the young asian lady with the lovely smile & good hiking shoes who helped me get my gear (camera, tripod & backpack with lunch & lots of water) up the rocks after mentioning my crook shoulder.
Also thanks to the fellow redhead who (the previous evening) told me this was the best of the waterfalls & a must see.
