Katoomba Cascades at Katoomba in the Blue Mountains National Park of NSW, Australia.

I really liked the orange colour of the rocks here & the contrasting white water flowing over them.

This was a very different easy walk for me. Most of my photos involve long strenuous treks.
This area is lit up at night & looks a treat under lights.

Photographed with a Canon 400D.

  • Thanks Felix. You’re testing my memory. I think it’s near the junction of Katoomba Falls Rd & Cliff Drive .. opposite Katoomba Park.

Wonderful, Michael! I agree with Michael. Great angle!

  • Thanks a lot Donna. That was my creative genius working or was it because that was the only angle where you could get almost all of the waterfall/cascade in the shot ?

Love this Michael!! Wished I could get the water effect, just can’t get the exposure exactly right.

  • Thanks for the compliment & fave Mark. I’m still a novice with most things technical but I find that in most cases, anything over 1.6 secs & the water becomes overexposed & you usually get as good a silky effect at 1.6 as you get with longer exposure.
I did a 13 second exposure of Sylvia Falls a while back & it didn’t look much different to a 1.6 second shot.
I usually take a few shots at different exposures & compare.
