Photographed with a Canon 400D, Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia.

Those wonderful, patient people who have followed me for a while will probably think I have put up too many waratahs, but this one is different.

I like this one for it’s almost perfect shape & the great spray of leaves that support it.

This is a spring flowering plant & was found on the walk to Hanging Rock near Blackheath in Blue Mountains National Park.

The botanical name for the waratah is Telopea speciosissima.

Wonderful colour and light – and terrific detail….!!!

  • Thank you Sharon. I had trouble limiting myself to just two photos of the amazing waratahs blooming on that walk.

This one will do me Michael. No need for any more. How can you follow this? Tony

  • Great comment & compliment Tony & thanks for the fave. I’ve been hanging on to this one for a while so as not to take the attention away from the other waratah & my mates pics of similar waratahs.
