Yet another trip to Wentworth Falls but this time in bright sunshine on a warm summers day.

I discovered this view from a lookout on the last trip but the light wasn’t right that time.
At a rough guess I would say that the falls would drop around 200 metres into the valley.

Shot in RAW Mode on a Canon 400D, F22, Manual, Exposure .5 seconds, ISO 200.

Country born & bred but now located in Sydney, Australia.

I’m fascinated by the beauty of nature & in particular Australian native flowers & landscapes. I also love colour & anything unusual.
The Blue Mountains are my favourite spot at the moment.

Beautiful image … its great to make notes to return when the light or weather isn’t right. You nailed it this time.

  • Thanks Bev. You can imagine how tired & sweaty we were when we got back to the top of the cliff.

good work Michael its a good time for waterfalls in the mountains at the moment

  • Thanks Philip. There’s certainly plenty of water but some of the areas like Sylvia Falls have had some of the ferns stripped away by the deluge of water that has passed through. This is such a spectacular view. I wasn’t tempted to go further down.

Beautiful work Michael. How high are these falls?

  • Thanks Trish & thanks for the fave. It has to be more than 100 metres from top to bottom. When you blow up this image & others you can just see people crossing the falls & climbing the cliff. My legs are still sore.

  • PS .. After viewing a photo with walkers in it, I’ve decided that the top section alone has to be around 100 metres making the whole thing around 200 metres to the valley floor.
