Photographed with a Canon 400D.

I visited the South Head of Sydney Harbour a few weeks ago hoping to get some long range shots of the city. It was sunny when I left but just as I was climbing the rocks towards the gap it started to rain & I didn’t have a brolly.
Protecting the camera came first & fortunately it was just a short shower but it provided this dramatic image out to sea.

My friend Desiree got my permission to use this image on her metaphysical seminar website. When I asked her why she liked it she replied …

“I love this shot because it shows the range of emotions we weather, and while we focus on one aspect we rarely see the entire picture. This photo captures it all in one take… the storm, the sunlit cloud, the brooding atmosphere, the clear sky and the intense section of rainbow – a metaphor for our lives.”

It is wonderful to see a lovely rainbow over the ocean!

  • Thanks Sharon. I think I love rainbows wherever they are. I got a photo last week of a rainbow with a rainbow lorikeet flying past it. That was pretty amazing.

That is Drama with a capital D Excellent capture Michael, the wisps of falling rain coming from below are fantastic, well caught!

  • Thanks David. My initial disappointment at not being able to fit the whole rainbow in a shot was compensated with this great view.
