This fig was rooted in an historic wall at Barrenjoey Lighthouse.
It had obviously been chopped off before & I guess noone wanted to damage the wall by pulling out the roots.
Unperturbed, it has tried once again to grow.
I like it but wouldn’t want that beautiful old sandstone wall wrecked.

Photographed with a Canon 400D at Barrenjoey on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, NSW, Australia.

Beautiful Michael. It’s amazing where there trees take hold. It looks like a fig tree or a camellia. It would make a good bonsai♥

  • Thanks Bev. I assumed it was a fig. They’re good at digging there toes in everywhere. I love the way they can grow in almost impossible places & spread their roots all over.
