Misty Jamison Valley panorama

Just near the start of the National Pass walking track at the Valley of the Waters at Wentworth Falls is a detour which provides this stunning view of the valley.
Seeing this site was definitely a “Wow” moment for me & once again it was a view I had missed despite having done this walk several times.

The swirling mist & light rain provided an everchanging view & made it difficult (or impossible) at times to avoid getting small droplets of water on the lens.

This is the Blue Mountains National Park in Australia.
This image is a lighter coloured version than the original upload.

Great shot Michael, love the clouds.

  • Michael Matthews replied

Thanks Troy. I think a clear day would have been great as well but at least with the clouds you don’t get dark shadows in the valley.

..great capture Michael… you have captured the Blue Mountains well..

  • Michael Matthews replied

Thanks Ray. If it wasn’t for the cold winters I’d love to live there.

    great capture Michael,
sure looks a place of mystery and intrigue
reminds me of an unexplored lost world
what secrets it must hide, cheers Rick

  • Michael Matthews replied

Thanks Rick. I think there is a place named Lost World close to this area, so you’re right on the money there.

Nothing scary about our cold winters Michael, that is what a cozy fireplace is for ; )
Great image, I love the days with the mist in the valleys.

  • Michael Matthews replied

Thanks Gayle. I love the mist. It gives the scene an inviting softness. I suppose I could acclimatize to the cold. That was my third straight saturday in the mountains & I saw something new each time. Love it !

Nicely composed Michael.Nice inclusion of the Plateau at the sides of the frame, drawing my eye to
the centre with thsat Mist sitting in the valley

  • Michael Matthews replied

Thanks for the compliment Jeff. I was feeling that the scene picked itself but I’ll take the rap.
