Born in London but lived most of my life in Essex, S E England I was introduced to art when I was 8 or 9 years old, over 30 years ago now and the painting that got me hooked was “The Burning Giraffe” by Salvador Dali, a truly amazing image, at that time I had not considered how powerful art could be and I soon found other wonderful artists including, Rene Magritte, Andre Masson, Max Ernst & Yves Tanguy and many others of that group.
In 2001 after admiring the art others for many years, I decided to start painting, I have been drawing on and off for many years and have found painting to be a welcome extension to my artistic ways, even though I have had no formal training.
There is still a strong flow of Surreal art with amazing works emerging from many countries, this is where my art fits in.
I have a passion for Egyptology and use among other sources, ancient history and art, science, and geometry to create Highly individual works and as far as I am aware I am the only Artist following this course, my painting is also Evolving, something I actively pursue. This form of expression gives me great freedom to describe situations, emotions and thoughts with a large narrative as a backdrop, trying to get these ideas across can be quite difficult but also very rewarding if all works well. Painting for me is a really exciting adventure, something I never tire from and I hope you enjoy looking through my gallery. Many thanks.
