Artist's Description

Is it considered a self portrait when you cut your own head off? Hehe! This is me… well… this is the upper half of my phoenix tattoo. It’s on my left side. From underarm to knee. This picture only shows it to my hip. When this picture was taken it was only half done.

Sometimes when life gets tough you tattoo a symbol of your survival to remind yourself where you’ve been and how you can always rise above the ashes that are left behind.

Taken in April of ’08

Canon Rebel XTi, EF-S 18-55mm @55, F5.6, 1/800, ISO 100, edited in PSP PhotoX2, flaming pear filters
