March Madness
Original in private collection
Watercolor on Arches 140# Hot Press paper.
18”W x 19 1/2”H
This is an interpretation of a busy street scene on a rainy day in Chicago based upon a photo I took years ago. I have always wanted to paint the scene and finally put the brush to paper. It was a challenge to portray the light of a rainy day and the reflections on wet cobblestones but I was really pleased with the outcome and it has become one of my favorites.
Giclee’s on cotton rag paper are available. Please bubblemail or email me for details on purchasing a giclee.

PERUGINA
I’m not suprised Marion has made it the group avatar… you have researched you subject well in regards to the photograph as your support…those reflections on the wet pavement and the light have been well executed. Congratulations.
Michael Bailey
Thank you Perugina. This painting had many, many sketches and color sketches done prior to and during it’s creation so yes, I researched every aspect I might have needed to help me complete it. It was a special piece for me from the beginning and things really flowed well while painting it. Thanks again!

So, congrats on the avatar. :) I have a question for you – how would one frame a spectacular original of this artwork which will be in a different room from ‘Bad Moon Rising’?
