Henry Foghart - A Man of Few Words

A surveillance video plays…

A man stands at the back of the store, staring at the cans of spaghetti on the shelf.

A woman enters, and sees the man. She immediately recognises him.

She says to him, “Henry, I’m all alone again.”

“My friends think I’m a whore and my family… I disowned them, but the point is: they’re not here for me, Henry.”

“On top of that, he left me. He left me for a Japanese Hairdresser.”

The man shows no sign that he notices the woman at all.

She continues: “I don’t know what I’ll do. How do I cope with this loneliness, Henry?”

“I’ll get a bottle of wine.”

“Two bottles of wine…”

“I just wish I had someone I could drink it with. Do you know what I mean, Henry?”

The man lets out a long, loud moan and turns very slowly to face the woman.

The woman sees that she has had an effect on the man, and continues:

“All I need is for someone to be there for me…”
“Someone strong…”

The man groans and takes a step toward the woman.

“Someone handsome…”

The man walks faster now toward the woman.

“Someone… like you, Henry.”

They both look hungrily into each other’s eyes.

They embrace.

They go to kiss…

The woman pulls away, screaming:

“Oh my God! What the hell is wrong with you?”

She screams once more as the man bites her again, this time on the neck.

The man groans.

The woman cries, “Henry, I thought we had something…”

The man chews through her throat, and then mutilates her face, and then breaks open her skull and devours her brain.

The surveillance video stops…

“Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, this is all the evidence you need to incarcerate Henry Foghart.”

“However, if you want further proof, all you have to do is look to your left.”

Henry Foghart groans.

“You will see…”

The solicitor, Geoff Rhynwell, sits back down in his seat.

Henry Foghart’s lawyer addresses the court, with a moan, and then sits down again.

The Honourable Judge Carson prompts a short recess while the jury decides on a verdict.

During the time of the recess, two people die.

When court proceedings continue, one man on the jury stands up to speak.

The Honourable Judge Carson asks, “Has the jury reached a verdict.”

The reply from the jury man is “We have, Your Honour.”

“We find the defendant guilty of all charges.”

As Henry Foghart is being taken away, he turns to the police officer and bites him on the arm.

At the prison where Foghart is held, seventeen people drop dead during his first two weeks of incarceration.

A week after that, there is a full scale uprising, seemingly formulated by the inmates.

There is no contact to those inside the prison.

No demands are made.

The mince-maid beguiles brandishable termites…..

The meaning is as clear as day. I barely even used adjectives.
