Last sunday I was in heaven :-) No not really but close, at least photographer’s heaven. I woke up 4am in the morning and drove 3 hours to the german alps not knowing if the sky would clear up a bit for sunrise and let in some magic light. The last days it had been just rain and grey skies. But I had to go and give it a try. After all it was the first time since weeks I really had a complete day for photography.
I arrived on location 7am and the show was already starting. Wow, one hour before sunrise, I haven’t seen such a dawn display for a long long time. The colors in the sky were fantastic, constantly changing and the shot you see above is the last one I took that morning.
Here’s a little bit more information about the location. What we see in the picture is a little river flowing from Uffing towards the Staffelsee wich lies beyond the line of trees in the background. Further beyond rises the first stretch of the Alps Mountains. There we would find the region around Garmisch and Mittenwald where I so like to photograph in summer.
