I remember when I first saw a humming bird. I was amazed at how small it was. But it’s pictures like this that remind us of the power that nature has in such tiny packages.

A few years back I was sitting next to some flowers I had planted. A hummingbird flew right up to my face as if I was a flower and it just stayed right there for about 20 seconds or so. I was in such awe of how small and beautiful these little birds are. And stopping in mid air is very special to see right in front of my eyes. This photo reminds me of that day I seen that little hummer. I have always wished I could of gotten a picture of the little hummingbird you was very lucky to have captured this picture.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my stroll through your gallery and this little hummingbird has really caught my eye.
One reason is that it is so refreshing for me to see a hummingbird caught on the hover without an artificial feeder in the shot.
I am also taken by the position of the bird’s wngs, the catchlight in it eye, the rich red flowers, your wonderful sharp focus, your extremely good use of depth of field and the great bokeh it has created, the very good exposure of this well lit scene and the composition of the shot.
(If I left anything out, please feel free to scribble it in in pencil). 8-)
