A morning shoot with Donnnnny. It was time to put some new learning to practice, thanks to Jimmy aka Fstop.

Sixteen identical images taken 1 sec apart totalling a 21min exposure, merged in PSE9 and tonemapped in Photomatix.

    Very nice Mark! Now you don’t have to be dissapoined if the sun and clouds don’t put on the performance you might have hoped for (you will need go be out of bed earlier though).

    Btw- I thought it was impossible to teach you anything LOL ;-p

    I like this one a lot!

    Excellent work Mark and interesting technique, I guess it would have been hard to balance the city lights and sky in a single exposure.

    It’s was more about getting the stars in a circular motion rather than streaks across the sky. If it was just a 21 min exposure at ISO100 they would of been streaks like this The Ultimate

    Thanks for the information Mark, however I thought the curvature was more about how close you are aligned with the axis of the spinning earth,- anyway it’s a great result :-)

  • From my understanding and obviously the result North, South, East and West are the best directiros to shoot. N&S being the best. This was facing due East.
