After a very early start shooting Terrace Falls Donnnny and I ventured to Katoomba for some well earned lunch. We decided to warm our numb bodies with a local pie, eating it in the car park at Echo point overlooking the three sisters.
Unfortunately it was in a pea soup of thick overcast. “Patience” was the buzz word as we waited for it to lift. It didn’t, we left and decided to go home via the Bell’s Liner road. Passing the now defunct Hydo Majestic we saw a break in the cloud and the beautiful Megalong Valley below basked in sunshine. Long story but we ended back at Echo point. After waiting for 45 minutes, the pea soup started to abate and with fingers stuck to our remotes all you could hear above the various languages being spoken were the shutters of a Canon and a Nikon (or should I say Nikon and a Canon) going off.
Not the best shot of this iconic location but a great visual of the story.
A nine shot panorama shot with a Really Right Stuff pano clamp and nodal slide stiched with PtGui. Exported as a tiff to Photomatix and tonemapped.
