BBC News Audio Slideshow - Timothy Allen

I have just watched an amazing collection of photogrpahy in a slideshow prepared by the BBC.

From the icy Arctic to Africa’s dense jungles – and the mountain tops of Mongolia to the deep waters of the Pacific – the BBC series Human Planet has explored mankind’s incredible relationship with nature.

Accompanying the film crews was photographer Timothy Allen. His stunning still images captured unique glimpses of people living in the world’s most extreme environments. Take a look at some of them, and listen to him explain how he snapped the most arresting shots.

Just had a look at this, very nice some great work, the last 3 shots were among the ones that really caught my eye.
Oh to get an opportunity like that, it would be a dream come true, thanks for sharing the link
    cheers don

  • I have looked at it a couple of times. It seems to be on a loop as some of the images change

Ah ok then the shots are the one with the tall trees and the light streaks beaming though, one with a thai or lao girl and her face painted in white flower and water, and the kid in the river with all the water over huim

  • The last 3 arte the same. Agree they are great. Also like the men for Tari (PNG), with the shallow DOF. Reminds me of when I was there just wish I was into photogrpahy like I am now back then

Thank you for posting this. You are so very right… amazing and inspirational. I’m in the US and have not heard of this series yet. I’ll be keeping fingers crossed I find it on air in this corner of the world soon.

Excellent link Mark, excellent images, and I can relate to what you say above about wishing you were into photography then like you are now. I was in PNG in 2009 heading up a building project for the Salvation Army and was taken around to lots of places there but only snapped off some shots with a little point and shoot, grrr.

  • Unfortunately (a long story) all I have from PNG is in my head, but those memories are still vivid and this helped rekindle some of those.

I went to the Mt Hagen show in 2005, just mind blowing seeing the amazing array of colour and none of it man made. One of those once in a lifetime memories.
