Taken in the Botanic Gardens in Sydney – a bee on some Echinacea growing in the Herb Garden.

Shot on a Mamiya RB 67 with Sekor 50mm lens using Fuji RVP100F Velvia medium format (120) film, the camera was certainly getting heavy by the end of the day but was worth carrying around to get this magic shot.

The wonderful thing about shooting transparency is that you can see if the image was successful as soon as you get the roll back, this one stood out straight away:

  • Thanks so much – doing the comparison is the easiest way to explain why I love film.

Love it Michelle. Although the RB is like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut!

Nice shot Michelle. I love the glare.

  • Thanks Geoff – this one was about setting myself a bit of a challenge with the low angle light and glare.

Very pretty image:-) Congrats on your homepage feature. I noticed the image of your digital version in the description. Was that taken with the Canon EOS Rebel listed on your profile page?

  • Thank you very much! Ohhh I must update that – it was with my EOS 60D as I’ve recently upgraded.
