Banksia
Banksia sp.
Banksia is an almost entirely Australian genus of over seventy species.
During Cook’s first voyage in 1770 samples of two species were among the significant plant collections made at Botany Bay by the botanists Joseph Banks and Daniel Solander. The genus was named after Banks in 1782.
