No Compassion In The USA

I have been following in the news how the US has stopped Pres. Obama from putting through the bill to cover everyone in the US for Medical. The majority who have medical through their work or self payment dont want the 40 million residents who do not have any medical coverage to be covered. For a nation founded on Christian beliefs such as “I am my brothers Keeper” I wonder where their heart and soul have gone to? These people often die in agony from Cancer, heart disease, lung disease because they cannot afford to even go to the doctor for basic medicine. When people can go to the doctor at the beginning of an illness, they can be treated and it does not develop into something life serious. They are therefore healthier, are better able to hold a job, pay their fair share of taxes, thus help support the medical system under which they would be covered. Healthy children learn better, become better educated, get better jobs and in the end contibute more money to the tax revenue of the US.

If governments would quite putting so much into war and war machines, guns and killing there would be more than enough funds to pay for medical, education, medical research and even pay good wages to teachers and keep the best in the system. Improve the low income schools , provide scholarships to deserving students and the standard of living in the US would become even higher. It is a shame that the majority dont want to help the sick and poor. The Statue of Liberty says, " Give me your poor" etc and the idea was they would go to the US to enrich not only their own lives but the US as well with their hard work and toil. The rewards were their children would have a better life and higher education leading to a higher standard of education and health.Everyon should be covered for at least basic medical care. Where is your heart? Where is your compassion? I dont see you having any, USA. Shame on you.

If it were only that simple. There are SO many strings attached to this bill, we would never get it paid for, in several lifetimes. It does sound good on the surface, but it only makes the insurance companies stronger, and richer, while those of us that still have jobs, get poorer.

  • Thanks for all your messages and kind words. I write in frustration to get it out. I am not a great writer but try to express what is on my mind. I have many american relatives and grandparents left Michigan about 100 years ago and moved to canada, if they had not i would have been an American. My mother could have claimed citizenship but she thought it was to much trouble with red tape etc.
