Nikon D90 using my Nikon 60mm Micro Lens

I’m going to be totally honest with you… I can’t for the life of me remember what this flower is? It was part of a bunch given to me. I can however, tell you that I still find it very beautiful even though it’s dying!

I find flowers just as stunning dead, as when they are alive. As they wither they take on a totally new form and suddenly behold many new textures and colours.

I placed this flower on a light box and made sure that I got the bottoms of the petals in focus as I liked the stripes. It’s placed at a slightly unusual angle because I felt it added to its appeal.

It’s a bit different from your average flower shot but different is what I like :o)

Interesting shot Melanie – a reminder that there’s hidden beauty in many things if we take the time to look.
