I’ve decided to write my first journal as a bit of a thank you to all of the people on here. I first signed onto Redbubble about 2 years ago but was quite busy and didn’t use it enough to appreciate what a fab site it really is.
On the 27th June 2010 I was involved in a serious accident where I broke my legs (amongst other things). This meant that I lost my freedom and was unable to carry around my most prized possession… my camera. My recovery has been very slow and I am still not quite there yet; however, about a month and a half ago I was told that I could start driving again. Even though I had been using my camera around the house and in the garden, I had really lost my confidence and this may sound strange, but I was actually a bit scared of picking it up again properly.
After browsing Redbubble, I realised that this was probably the perfect site to encourage me to start taking pictures again. Not only is there an infinite amount of inspirational work and great artists to talk too; but it also gives me a reason to get myself out there and take more photos, add to my portfolio and acquire some constructive feedback on my work.
So this is a thank you to all of the lovely Redbubblers. Your kind comments, features and faves have been invaluable to me. You have boosted my confidence no end and have helped me to feel comfortable with my camera again.
I can honestly say that the last few months of my recovery have been the most important to me. A lot of the time it is the mind that needs to heal just as much as the body. Once the mind is happy, the body catches up very quickly!
Thank you all :o)
