Into the night...
...My daughter attends a school where they honour the seasons and each season is celebrated accordingly. To celebrate winter solstice the children make lanterns and then at night we walk with the lanterns and sing. There are people displaying fire twirling skills to drumming and hot vegetable soup for everyone. The ambience is warm and fuzzy and I love that these rituals reminds us that we are humans living on a planet and that planet is our “home”.

This is rather creepy – looks like ghosts or lost souls haunting the streets as part of a procession

Well said Melody – I wish there was more of this around. Beautiful shot…

Me too – I think solstice celebrations are a great way to connect with Gaea.

Brilliant – I did the same thing one year down at the Collingwood Children’s farm… so I canfeel where you are coming from…
This shot is so amazing – very akin to a painted masterpiece for me, the tones and darkness are awesome – what a great result – with all the faces merging and blurring becoming one image. There are some very wonderful highlights on the faces. You’ve really outdone yourself here and captured an extremely wonderful image. Brilliant work Melody!
