My Darkside

for Now here’s my darkside

“My Darkside” seeks to explore issues of identity and meaning and the questioning of one’s life and purpose over time and beyond time. There is deliberate loneliness and isolation as the viewer is invited to journey in the small boat in the moonlight of her face. The only light that the moon has to offer is a reflection of the sun, other than that it is nothing but a cold dark stone.

as i’ve said on bc, i had no idea that you’d have a dark side… and this is beautifully dark… : )

  • melodious replied

awesome, thank you, I was aiming for dark… trying to tap into it… :)

  • mimi yoon

    mimi yoon

be careful, mel… i’ve tried that… then once i tapped into it, i was trapped in there for awhile… it could be beautiful though… :P

  • melodious replied

thanks for the advice sweet mimi, I know I could go deeper, I’ve been there but not so much with my art… it would be easy to get there again… I think that theres so much darkness already in the world, everyone has crap to deal with… so offering something full of light and love is definitely more what I’m about… hopefully and gracefully xx

Was so cool to see this in real life. Your use of the medium (not sure if oil or acrylic?) was wonderful. Has a haunting feel but with lots of softness too.
