sometimes you wait

another red tree…

Inspired by The Red Tree by Shaun Tan

“sometimes you wait
and wait
and wait
and wait
and wait
and wait
and wait
but nothing ever happens
then all your troubles come at once
wonderful things are passing you by
terrible fates are inevitable
sometimes
you just don’t know
what you are
supposed to do
or who
you are meant
to be
or where you are
and the day seems to end
the way it began”

    Swing with me
    swing neath the tree
swing as the wind blows the leaves away
    there be nothing more
    but this tree we adore
and the swing to the fore
    in it’s shade
    swing with the clock’s tick
if you are well or are sick
    while life’s candle has wick
swing neath the tree of reason

There you go I propose to title this “The Tree of Reason”

now for the sheep in the filed of knowing …. lol

in the middle right, under the saddle of the hill slope ~ is that not a sheep and a little Willy wagtail bird below him?

  • melodious replied

I am so happy that you found him… if he is there for you, then that is a wonderful surprise! I think I can make it out… I’m glad that there are mysteries within this work! Perhaps that is why I can’t name it… it is for the viewer…
