One of the many bird feeders in our backyard. This one is filled with nyjer seed which attracts the finches. This little fellow is basking in delight as he has the whole thing to himself….but that didn’t last long!!!

Much appreciated, Maggie….thank you for your nice comment.
golly (geedarn) Marsha, I was wondering why you posted a foto…but alas….it’s a another beautiful painting!!!!! FANtastic! and another fav…
Sally, you’re being way too kind here. So much appreciate your comments.
The wet work in the overhanging leaves and the vague background bring the bird and feeder into sharp focus. Like the ‘halo’ round the bird and the highlights on the metal. I notice the leaves are turning!
What a great critique, Ian….so much appreciate your taking the time to point several things out. Yes, the leaves in our area are really starting to turn now. However, they’re turning about 3 to 4 weeks earlier than usual because of the really weird weather we’ve had this year. Even the male finches which are a screaming yellow in the summer are starting to turn back to their drab olive green/brown until next Spring when mating season starts.
Nice work Marsha!
Thanks so much, Cindy.
wonderfully donelike it very much….
Much appreciated, Limon….thank you…glad you like it.
Hello fellow migraine sufferer. This is such a beautiful painting. It has so much charm and appeal, Marsha. Thank goodness we have painting to enrich our lives.
Thank you so much, Bev. Art can be a healer in so many ways. See bmail.
Ohhhhh ! this is so cute Marsha. Great work on the leaves and the little yellow fellow
Thanks, Corrine, for stopping by to leave a nice comment. So much appreciated.
Fantastic work Marsha, and I especially love the mysterious background which contrasts so well with the foreground and brings everything to life.
Thank you, Lynda. That mysterious background you speak of was born out of laziness….ha! I just didn’t feel like painting in a whole background of trees & grasses. :)
You know I like this one, being the bird lover that I am.
Thanks so much, Pauline……they bring us so much joy! (and expense! ha!) I’m sure hoping we’ll get some cardinals this year. There was a pair that visited a time or two but didn’t stay. Steve’s Mom gets them by the herd! :) She’s counted up to a dozen pair at a time at and near her feeder. I’ve seen them there and they’re just gorgeous especially in the dead of winter against the snowy background.
