Winnie was “rescued” 12 years ago from a private breeder. When we went to view her, I was absolutely appauled at the deplorable conditions she was living under. She was flea invested & she shared her space with several other Persians, 2 adults & several children who chased & kicked at the cats. Many of the cats hid behind & under furniture for their own safety. When this “Tortie” was finally pulled out from her hiding place, I fell in love with those huge golden owl-eyes & I felt the need to get her, as well as her “Blue Cream” sister, out of there. She & Hannah were immediately taken to the vet to get treatment for parasites. Her sister didn’t fare so well as she needed to be completely shaved in order to get rid of all the mats. Both she & her sister are registered pedigree Persians. Winnie is endearingly referred to as Twisted Sister, Attila the Hun & Brat Cat. She thinks she rules the roost but is the first one to hide at the sound of another person coming into the house. Most nights, she curls up next to my pillow to sleep.
