All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical

She lies there,
purposefully twirling a lock of velvet sea,
Black as night.
Black as night,
yet pure in comparison
to the blackest recesses of her heart.
I know her name,
but she’s hoping i won’t remember it,
and i can’t decide what’s more enticing…
The finesse of perfectly sculpted black curls…
Or the silent invisible tears,
stinging her cheeks,
playing on her eyelashes,
and burning rivers in my heart.
