Drown Me part 2

The response to part 1 spurred me to write the rest of the story

Drown Me part 2 belongs to the following groups:

All Things Poetic, Artistic, Philosophical and Bubblettes

She stared into my eyes for a full minute before standing up and walking out.

In the distance I could hear the delicious confirmation of the water against metal.

My 16 year old saviour.

I walked to the bathroom and found her sitting fully clothed in the filled bath.

I got in and laid my head in her lap. With her wet hands she took the tears from her own cheeks and drew them on mine.

I know this isn’t how you mean it…. But this is all I have to drown you with. Water, myself and my tears. Close your eyes and don’t open them til you understand that you’re alive.

I closed my eyes and she held me under before I could reply.

oh, babe… such a beautiful fucked up scene. such love and inevitable tragedy…
there is some resonance here; for me.
i wrote one of my first songs around that age. drunk of course but…
‘there’sa girl asleep on my window-ledge.
she must be cold. and while she sleeps she cries.
    i leaned against the glass
    ravens’ wings
beating the backs of my eye.
for the space of a cigarette
i came inside and found her

in a blue dress in my bath
    filled with black water
    and clover.’

    some kinship?
