This piece was one of the very first of the flower series. I chose this because at the time, I was very fascinated with the composition as well as the interesting lilypads surround this powerful flower in its prime. I like to use a combination of Rembrandt pastel sticks and CarbOthello pastel pencils when creating this pastel painting, and I used very vivid colors in the background to contrast with the white petals of this beauty.
