To me this would be the view of an insect like a bee, right before it lands inside of this beautiful tulip. And that is why I titled this piece “Landing Zone”. This captivating tulip seems very welcoming and accepting of any visitors and I can almost sense the motion of the petals. I like to use very vivid colors to capture this tulip and I love the contrast of the petals and the leaves in the background. To create this pastel painting, I use a combination of Rembrandt pastel sticks and CarbOthello pastel pencils. This piece won the “Patron’s Choice” award at EBSQart.com.
