I painted Fuego in 1994 when he was a youngster. He has turned out to be the most amazing Stud, and is more stunning than ever.
This horse will never be beaten for being the most awesome subject ever.

Wow!!! Fabulous work!!!
You took my breath away!! Beautiful work, well executed and I could stare at this forever and find something new each time..
Brilliant
What a fantastic portrait of a wonderful, intelligent, amazing animal! Gorgeous. How wonderful to have the opportunity to paint him! Beautifully rendered. I love the emotion in his expressive eyes!
He has really cheeky eyes Jean, even at this grand age. Thanks to all for your kind comments, this is the first work since my heart surgery last year, and it was a wonderful feeling to be back into the groove again.
Very impressive work – your admiration for him really comes through.
I am such a huge fan of your work Melissa, it is so beautifully observed and executed and this is no exception- gorgeous! Sorry to hear of your heart surgery, I hope you have made a good recovery.
ohj how spoiled am I !!! I asked Melissa to come back 16 years later and see the ole boy “FUEGO” who will be 23 years young in March and paint him again so I now have both Originals of him, Mellisa is THE VERY BEST when it comes to capturing the “Life” of her subject and this is Fuego at his very best – happily in retirement – other than the odd wife or 10 !! totally stunning and made me cry when she revealed the painting to me. I cannot thank her enough.
Thank you Claire for giving me the chance to paint the most magnificent horse in the world x
Melissa, I didn’t realize that you had surgery! So glad to see that you have recovered and are painting as well as ever! Love your work! What a wonderful opportunity to paint this amazing horse and how great to have the owner love the paintings so much. No surprise there as they are stunning!
