The Crow

I saw a crow today
A beautiful black bird
And couldn”t figure out which death had occured
Allowing different thoughts to run through my head
I thought of you and if you were dead
After school I drove to see you
As I do everyday
I walked into the bathroom
And saw your pale body a sway
Hanging above the tub
Callapsing to the floor
Tears rolling down my face
I grab a razor
Drawing pretty pictures into my wrists
Carving along my veins clenching my fists
Softly whispering your name underneath my last breath
Before I black out, before the point of death
My alarm clock rings and you kiss me good morning
Sweating perfusly I cant help but think ” was this my warning”
As I lay back down and smell yor sweet smell
Accepting that this was only a bad dream from hell
I crawl out of bed take a glance out of the window
And see blue skys, the bright sun and a beautiful crow

    Melissa,

Nice work…..the thing with crows that I find most interesting is that they are variously associated with death and life in different contexts. Because of that mysterious side to them brought about by mythology, they are an intriguing, albeit fairly non-descript bird.

You have captured that mystery around the crows and the duality of their association with life and death so well.

    Excellent work!!
