The beauties of melbourne bayside. I love ‘em. They get into your bloodstream when you’ve grown up by the beach. I hope you like ’em too!

G’day all, my name is Melinda but my mates call me Mel, so feel free. I live by the beach in Elwood, Victoria, Australia. I contribute to a few charities as a Photojournalist, namely HEAL Africa in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Any of my Africa stuff’s profits go to them. So far the sales have bought 7 operations and heaps more so thanks for everyone’s support. I also take a mean beach shot (well try to).

oh so very Melbourne…i’ve taken so many pics of these beach houses, but like this one of yours so much better
Thanks Jessica. Yeah I know it’s a bit of an old standard! But they are nice aren’t they? If only we’d all bought them when they were 5 bucks each. We’d be rich!
The low lighting has certainly enhanced these beautiful beach houses..
Beautiful work Melinda….
I love this, stunning colours, well done!
It reminds of a being a kid and hanging out playing around the beach houses, mind you they were slightly more rustic looking;)
wow, such adorable colours here! fantastic capture :)
Is there nothing low light can’t do?
I think film directors and photographers call it ‘magic time’ or similar. You look up and suddenly everything looks interesting.
Nice pic.
Thanks Davoid. Yeah I’ve heard of referred to as ’God’s light…’ The time just before the sun plops down for a good nights rest. Seems to me you have to wait until you think it’s almost too low to shoot and then you do. I almost didn’t put this one up ’cos I thought it was a bit cliched, but I just printed it out for my twin brother who lives in land locked Colorado and it looks ok I think. Enough to make him homesick anyway…
Wow superb lighting, I enjoyed taking shots of the bath houses when i was down there a couple months go..very unique ineed
Nice!!! well done.
Gorgeous colours and composition. In fact, i love all your work – it has inspired me to pop some of my photography up too, so thankyou!
