I’ve been using Silver Efex Pro and Colour Efex Pro for a few weeks – I love them! So much easier to use than Photoshop. I can’t tell whether you could do everything they can do in Photoshop and they are expensive. But having used the trial Silver Efex Pro for 15 days, I was convinced enogh to get the set.
I should have said, I saw Silver EP demonstrated by Nick Melidonis, a fabulous West Australian landscape photographer. He reckoned it does do things that Photoshop can’t do and he also uses Colour EP. He’s much more credentialed than I am!

PS – nothing like an example: this image was completely flat and pale grey before I tweaked it in SEP.
