LisaG and Jess . Two giving hearts, thank you...
I receive some wonderful comments on my work. But I know the comments are really about the people that work represents. The tireless souls who do the hard yards for all of us on the battlefront that is Goma, DR Congo.
And that’s cool with me, ‘cos they deserve it :)
But when people actually contribute to their cause with acts of love, make no mistake, they deserve the plaudits as well.
Take LisaG

Lisa is an enormously gifted writer who graces the pages of RB like a butterfly dances across a petal. She plants seeds of thought, gems of wisdom and delights in raising questions for us to ponder intermittently as we journey through our day.
She is what I call one of those ‘inside-out’ people. Before you see her face, you see her heart.
Then there’s Jess .
I haven’t met Jess but I reckon you can tell a lot about people by their avatar.
Her’s
reveals a delicateness which is clearly apparent.
You see these two ladies bought the world’s most expensive card
The one that makes the ridiculous profit of $30.00 which goes to HEAL Africa.
Those of you who know a bit about it may have seen what’s going on in Goma Congo at the moment. A human disaster which just like all the other ones the UN is struggling to stop as it is so tied up in bureaucracy. We’ll all be watching docos on this in 10 years about what should have been done. Like Rwanda, like Dafour, like Sarajevo. There comes a point in life where you whisper to yourselves “not on my watch…’ That’s what these ladies have done.
I know these journals seem a bit over the top. Especially for the usual wise-cracking cynic I can be :) But I’ve been there and I’ve seen it.
And that changes people.
Thanks guys xx

Thanks Mel, I’m just happy that I can do something to help. Things like this prove that there are things you can do to make a difference.
